For the Tally-O app · Last updated: [07/31/2026]
This policy explains how the Tally-O mobile app ("Tally-O", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. Tally-O is published by Neihl Wang, an individual developer. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Tally-O is built to keep your data with you. The games you set up, the player names and colors you enter, your round-by-round scores, your saved games, and your app settings are stored locally on your device using your device's standard app storage. This information is not transmitted to us, and we do not have a server, account system, or database that receives it. We cannot see your games or scores.
If you delete the app, this locally stored data is removed along with it.
The app includes a feedback option for requesting a new game or reporting a problem. If you use it, you provide an email address, a subject, and a message. We use this only to read and respond to your request. We do not add you to a mailing list and do not use it for advertising. You're free to leave the email field blank if you don't need a reply (though we then can't respond).
Tally-O displays advertising through Google AdMob, a service provided by Google. To serve ads, Google may collect and process certain information from your device, which can include a device advertising identifier (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers, when you permit it), your IP address (used to estimate your approximate, city-level location), and information about your device and how you interact with ads.
We do not receive, store, or have access to this advertising data ourselves — it is handled by Google. You can learn how Google uses it here:
Where you consent, ads may be personalized using the information above. Where you do not consent, we request non-personalized ads, which still rely on limited data such as approximate location and the current context but are not based on a profile of you.
Depending on your region and device, you may be shown one or both of the following when you first use the app (or first see an ad):
On iOS you can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings.
Tally-O offers a one-time in-app purchase that removes ads. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive or store your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat to confirm purchases and to remember whether you've bought the ad-free upgrade — including when you use the Restore Purchases option. For this, RevenueCat processes limited purchase information and an anonymous identifier assigned to your app installation. It does not receive your name or Apple ID. You can read their policies here:
Tally-O does not currently use any analytics or crash-reporting services. If we add one in the future, we will update this policy to describe it before it goes live.
Tally-O is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the feedback form, please contact us and we will delete it.
Because almost all of your data stays on your device, you are in direct control of most of it: you can edit or delete your games and scores within the app, and removing the app deletes that data.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over personal information — such as the right to access, correct, or delete it. The main personal information involved here is what you send us through the feedback form and what the third-party services above process. To make a request about information we hold (your feedback messages), contact us using the details below. For information held by Google, Apple, or RevenueCat, please also refer to their policies linked above.
For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland: our basis for processing is your consent (for personalized ads) and our legitimate interest in running and supporting the app (for responding to feedback and providing the ad-free purchase). You can withdraw ad consent at any time as described in Section 3.
For California residents: we do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your ad-personalization choices, the use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads may be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by declining the consent and tracking prompts, or by limiting your advertising identifier, as described in Section 3.
Data stored on your device remains there until you delete it or remove the app. Feedback messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and are then deleted. The third-party services above retain data according to their own policies.
We take reasonable measures to protect information, and the fact that your game data stays on your device limits its exposure. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Tally-O is operated from the United States. The third-party services it relies on (Google, Apple, and RevenueCat) may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the app, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will make a reasonable effort to highlight it within the app or on this page.
